How early can I apply - current work permit holder URGENT!!!

Hi all,

Hope you can help me with this rather urgent matter.

I am currently living in the UK and have a work permit which will expire in December '09. However, I'll be turning 32 next week and will therefore lose the 5 points for age. As a result, I would no longer be able to reach the 75 point threshold. Is it possible to apply for the Tier1 visa up to 6 months before my current work permit expires?

There is no relation between WP expiry and T1 application. If you have points and all the documentation, maintenance funds..etc you can apply straight away.

mate, you can apply whenever you want for the Tier 1 . As rightly pointed out by other members, there is no relation between WP and Tier 1.

I, myself, was on WP which would have expired in 2011... but due to this rule changes, i applied for Tier 1 and got approval till 2012.. ... so, dont worry, if you qualify and earn all the points for tier1 ... you should b fine...please go through the guidance note very carefully...
