Original and Duplicate Statement

Post by uvalue » Thu May 21, 2009 11:06 am

Hello Everybody,

I have confusion on bank statement to show my previous earnings. I have orginal bank statement to show my earnings for last 12 months, but there was an alphabetic error in my name so i changed my name in my bank to reflect the original Name.

Than I requested my Bank (Allied Irish Bank) to send me a statement for for last 12 months.

The statement i have recieved is not on original bank headed paper. On every page of my bank statement, there is clearly written 'DUPLICATE' in the middle of the page and there is no bank logo on this statement.

I am just wondering, would it be to go ahead with this statement or what should I do???

Any answer will be appreciated.

Thanking you in advance

Cheers

This should be fine as these are issued by Bank itself which means it is on official stationary. Also mentioned this clearly and in simplest word in your covering letter.

You can also get Bank Stamp on these statements or a letter from bank stating the same(if your bank provides yoo).

Thanks very much for your answer mate,

I am sure, my bank would have no problem in stamping these statements and probably I will be able to get a letter from bank for confirmation.

Can you please advise, what exactly i should mention in my cover letter.......??????

Just say you have spelling correction in your name and which bank has corrected and hence statements.I personally do not think you need to even mention that but just for your peace of mind. If you stamp the statements, then those statements are as good as Original statements(although they are original anyway) and HO will not be asking you anyway.
