(1) Extention.. Job Category not highly skilled (2) Maintena

Post by jahangir » Wed May 27, 2009 7:37 pm

1. After getting HSMP visa I could not get a job in my relevant field so
even though I fulfil the previous Earning requirements, my work
category is not a particularly highly skilled one (but then there is no
proper definition of highly skilled category … just guesses). Main Job
Security Guard.

Is this important. The Extention form does ask you which professional
category you fall under but it was not usually a factor in determination
of the case.

Anybody with an input.

(FAQ on page 10 of immigration boards says it has to be skilled but for
one thing the FAQ is many years old and for another, it does not say
anything categorically).

Maintenance funds… My wife has been here with me for more than 12
months and so has our child. I need to show £800, my wife and child
have to have £533 each. Can I show all of this in my account only
rather in joint account. After all they are my dependants.

You have to tick the category under which you falls in extension form.

Should be fine. Main applicant can show maintenance funds for all dependents.

Thanks chetanojha but my first question was whether I will be able to extend on a non-highly skilled job (security guard)

Thanks push_hsmp. Hopefully the yes is to both the questions. If you know readily, can you refer to any guidance or any practical example in this regard. Please.

Well there is nothing in the Guidance which says to the contrary.
