Tier 1 Extension Contractors bucking the trend

Post by PinkFloyd » Thu May 28, 2009 3:52 pm

Hello,
Having gone through all threads discussing the eternal debate between being employed and self-employed in the company that you own, I fully understand how HMRC determines your legal status. I will fall, as the majority of contractors operating under private company structure, , as employed. However I want to claim points in previous earning section based on profit retained i.e. using net profit as the figures for points and providing Company account and letter from the accountant as proof. Reason being I have been erratically drawing salary from comapny account as direct transfer to my personal account as and when needed.

I will be really grateful if people, who have taken this route, can raise their hand and say "i did" :-). Using payslips, dividend vouchers and bank account has already proven to be effective. I just want to know if the other road is just as safe. The numbers are important so as to discount any caseworker whimsy. If you had an experience haggling over it, please do share.

I will be presenting my case in person in Croydon in June.

Thanks a lot

Okies.... No replies then I will cast my net wider ....

Please reply if you have done or known people who are successful with the extension application using company account and letter from accountant as proof of earnings. This is going the self-employed route for directors of their own limited company.

Thanks!
