Anybody flying in August...!!!

Post by samsung » Fri May 29, 2009 3:19 pm

Dear Friends,

I am planning to land up in UK, somewhere in August , from Bangalore.

I am looking for someone, who is willing to fly on that same month, and also it will be great, if we can rent the same house in UK, reduce expense...

Also, I wish to know, how do i get the SIM card and Mobile as soon as I land up. Is it available at Airport? Few tips about it will be appreciated.

I wish to stay at a place away from the heart of the city for the sake of reducing expense, but at the same time easy to commute. If you have any thoughts about it, plus let me know.

Pls add any other things, you would like to , for a first time lander in UK.

I hope you are coming with a job in hand. Otherwise its too risky.

You can get matrix sim card in India itself. Check out on net.

Have you decided what city you want to stay in? London is too costly.

Hi wp2tier1,

No, i do not have a job in hand right now. But i have posted my CV on all the job sites, so waiting for response.

Hopefully i ll get some, even if i don't, i have planned to come and look for a job. Just wana try my luck and hopefully will succeed.

Matrix sim card would be a little expensive, so i plan to buy it in London itself. Can somebody tell me how much will it cost in London, am carrying my N73 with myself....

So, nobody traveling to London in August, yea???

Hi Mate,

You can get Pay As You Go (prepaid) sim cards in airport. I doubt if you get LycaMobile or Libera SIM. They are better for calling India as well, so its best to get them initially.

Regarding place of stay:
You can look for areas like Wembly (in west london) or East Ham (in east london) or Wimbledon (in south). They have good connectivity and you can get paying guest acco for £50 - £60 per week. Do search in gumtree.com. The best way is to go around the town centers in these areas and look for advertisement on the shops.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Vikram
