Last date on bank statement and verification

Could someone please tell me if we have to maintain the same amount in our bank account even after we apply. Say we show 9000 pounds on the last date of our statement on 1-7-09. So, should this be kept after 1-7-09.

No, u dont need to maintain the same 9000gbp after you apply.. it is always good to keep the min amount required as per the Maintenance funds.. based on 1application or 1applicant plus dependents maintenanec funds...

My real question was this. Should I keep the min amount even after I appy---I mean is it mandatory or could we withdraw and lower the min amount. Thanks for your help
