Urgent advice pls related to self employment on Tier 1

I am on Tier 1 visa and am due for my ILR early next year. I am looking to get self-employed considering I have lost my job.

Is there any definition of what kind of company I can start to be eligible for Tier 1 renewal ? Can I start a company in partnership with my spouse or should it be just as a sole trader to be eligible for Tier 1?

Can I get reference to any immigration rules - any link that defines self-employment will hep.
