Settlement visa for my husband

hi everyone just wondered if any one can help me please, I and my husband got married in march, and are about to apply for a settlement visa.

It was a short registry wedding, we took pictures and everything, but the pictures have since got lost, we have being dating for, almost five years long distance before we actually decided to get married, we have lots of emails and details of phone calls between us, birthday cards, etc, but we dont have any pictures together (apart from one on the day i was leaving) as we lost them, am beginning to get a bit worried, because i am not sure if he will be denied the visa on that basis?

pls has any 1 got any advice or experience on this issues?

Whilst wedding photos are highly desirable in sposue visa applications, they are not an essential requirement.

It is possible to get a spouse visa without wedding photos, providing you meet the other conditions required for a spouse visa.

Wedding photos makes the job of ECO a bit easier as it is the best proof that a marriage between the two parties have taken place .

Can I ask where you got married, as you said it was a short registry wedding. Is this a traditional marriage where you come from. If not then it will raise some doubts in the mind of the ECO.

How did you loose photos?. can they not be retrieved somehow.

Your chances of succeeding with wedding photos are much higher than with out them.

I presume there were some other guests at this wedding. Would it not be possible to get copies of the photos they took?

no it wasnt a traditional marriage, it was a registry wedding in a court, we got married in nigeria, we have the marriage certificates which proofs we are married, and i am sure the registry office should have a record

the wedding pictures where taken by one of the guests as we did not have a proffesional camera there was less than ten guests, as it was in the registry

what do you advise now that we have no pictures?

No worries! It's no biggie! The marriage certificate is far more important than any photos; which can be stage managed anyway! (Not saying that they are! ). Besides, you have lots of other evidence to prove the relationship, if need be. So I wouldn't worry about it if I was you.
