EU travel with UK spouse visa

Post by WooHoo » Sun Jun 14, 2009 12:13 pm

Hello,

My wife is Japanese and on a 2-year spouse visa. Fortunately, as a Japanese citizen she is allowed to enter EU countries without much bother on a tourist visa. I know that, sadly, this isn't the same for everyone who uses these boards.

Well, I wondered if this is the best way for her to enter EU countries or if there is another way, taking into account her UK spouse visa (with NHS entitlements), that would be more advisable. What I mean to say is that as a Briton, I have rights and entitlements extended to me when I travel through the EU. Free or subsidised healthcare for example. Are any entitlements that my wife is afforded to her in the UK that can be extended to her whilst in the EU?

I hope my post made some sense! Thanks! :)
