Skilled Worker- Hospitality

Post by LinaBun » Tue Jun 16, 2009 1:05 am

Hi Guys,

I have a friend who is interested in Canadian immigration under the skilled worker program.

He has a bachelors degree- wants to attend graduate school in the future.
He has worked at a restaurant for 5 years and is now the service manager.
Speaks fluent English and basic French.
No criminal records.
He has taken the accessibility test and scored over the pass points.

Even though he passed the questionnaire what are the chances of his application being successful? He is worried that it is only highly skilled people that pass. i.e co-operate managers and I.T applicants with graduate degrees etc.

Has anyone been successful/heard of anyone successful that is not working at a big company? He is just a average guy, no fancy higher degrees etc and just wants an idea.

Thanks.

If his job is on the list of 38 desired occupations and he meets the stated requirements and experience for that job he stands a good chance if he is OK on points.
