FLR(M) Unmarried partner or EEA 2 ?

Post by sunshines4you » Mon Jun 22, 2009 3:24 pm

Hi,

Im an Indian national on a student visa in UK and my Partner is a EU national (Belgium) currently excessing his treaty rights (working) and he doesn't have a residence permit. My visa is expiring soon and I would like to extend my stay. Is FLR(M) the right form to fill in. On session 10 they ask for evidence that my partner is settled in Uk? Can he give his passport , with payslips, letter from employer? Or should I be filling in this EEA2 form? I have been trying to get tru immigration agency number but its been busy all day. It would be great if someone can give me some advise on this. we have more than 2 yrs of evidence that we are together.

Thanks!

Settled would mean that your partner has been exercising his treaty rights for at least five years and thus has obtained permanent residence by now. If not then your only options is the EEA route.

hey thanks for ur reply. we did call the eu office. they said he doesn't need a
permit since he is an EU citizen. but he can get one easily trough EEA 1. Nyways im also thinking the same. the only option is EEA 2 route since my visa is expiring on this month end and seems i got to wait for more than 6 months through EEA route and i cant work in the meanwhile.

FLR(m) would have been an ideal option but looks like i cannot apply thu it
