Visa Success

Post by AzimScot » Sat Jun 27, 2009 11:02 pm

Hi,

My sister in law has had her visa turned down. We have appealed and she has been successful. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if she has to go to the British embassy in Pakistan which is Islamabad as they have other offices in Lahore etc. She went to the Lahore office which she was given the result she was declined a visa, will she have to visit Islamabad to get her visa?

Thanks.

She will not have to attend the Embassy. She will get a call in letter from the BHC Islamabad asking her to bring her passport, TB certificate and the date she wants to travel to the UK to the Gerrys Fedex Office in Islamabad.

She will have to make an appointment there to take these documents down. Fedex will pass them on to the BHC where she will get her visa stamped and returned to Fedex from where you will have to pick it up.

However reading some comments in same sittuation as you, are waiting between 2 - 6 months before they get the visa stamped.

So dont expect things to happen quickly

Thanks for that info. Is there not a Gerry's office in Lahore or Faisalabad?

There is no fixed time in the time it takes to deal with a visitor or settlement application in Pakistan. The webite states 14 days but it is usually double that or some cases even more.

I would wait a month before you contact them to find out what has happened, providing they havent already contacted you to let you know whether they have granted or refused it.
