Post by Tier1Dep » Tue Jun 30, 2009 2:36 pm

Hi

I have very simple questions, though it might have been answered many times in this board.
I would really be grateful if you can answer the questions as my wife will be going to India just for this purpose.
Please bear with me!!

Background :
I am the main application (Tier 1 –extension) staying in UK for more than 2 years, my wife is currently holding work permit for 5 year.
She has also been working and staying in the UK for more than 2.5 years on the same work permit.
We wish to apply for dependent visa for her from Bangalore.

Questions:

1. Maintenance fund
Sine more than 2 years
£800+£533
I am correct?
2. Can I show the UK bank balance for three months?
I have Barclays bank maintaining the balance of more than 3K. I do have Indian account but I don’t have enough balance.
3. I share a house with some one else and all the bills of the house is in his(my house mate’s) name
Will taking “No objectionâ€

1. Since you have already told you have more than £3000 in ur barclays account for more than 3 months, it should be fine.

2. Yes, you can

3. I wouldnt be comfortable doing that. There are lot of instances where the ECO has rejected the dependent visa stating that the accommodation is not good enough.
The question to answer is can all of you live legally in that house? For example, 3 ppl cant live in a single bedroom house. If it is a 2 double bed room house which you are sharing with your friend, then it should be ok. But I strongly recomment adding your name to the contract and one of the utility bills.

4. Yes

5. It varies, but shouldnt take as much as the main applicant. My wife's was done in 8 days last year.

Good luck
Vikram
