Hi
I am about to apply for my Tier 1 VISA... I have earned from USA and India from the same company in the past 12 months... the earnings from USA have been deposited into the US Bank Account
My period of stay was November 2008 to Feb 2009... now the problem is that my 2 months payrolls from US for November and December have been in the form of checks and the bank account statement shows them as just 'Counter Deposit' not as payroll... this is for year 2008...
The earnings from year 2009 were payrolls in the bank account statement... the last payroll was also in the form of a check which was deposited into my US bank account and the transaction is shown as 'Counter Deposit' in the bank account statement..
Can I submit my US Tax Form W-2 (which shows the gross earnings) from my employer for year 2008 and claim the earnings for those 2 months November and December saying that my complete period of stay can be verified from my passport...
Please do advice on this issue...

hi, actually getting a letter from the employer is a little complicated... HR would ask me questions on the purpose of the letter as I alredy have the payslips...
Would it be a problem if the payroll would be in the form of checks ?

Not necessarily but it is always in our interest to make things foolproof and not add any avoidable complication. HO might want to speak to your employer in any case to verify your employment dates. Tell your HR that because the payments have been through check, do they mind issyuiing a letter which clearly shows your monthly gross, deductions, net earnings mode & date of disbursement if possible. Try to keep it clean. If not then go ahead and explain things in your cover letter.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the reply, I shall try to get the letter and if that does not work out ask my HR to explain the disbursement mode over the phone to the HO (if he calls)...
