HSMP WP holder.... want to apply again

Post by vinoth_pr » Thu Sep 22, 2005 12:25 pm

Hi All,

I got the HSMP approval last year and got the entry clearance on 21st OCT 2004. Since i got a long term onsite ( not to the UK ) opportunity through my Indian company, and i preferred to take that assignment.

Now my Leave to remain expires on 21 OCT 2005 and i have been in the UK only for a weeks time in the past 1 year.

Can i apply for HSMP again ?. Will i need to submit all the documents again or can i quote the previous HSMP reference number ?. Nothing has changed on my side since my last HSMP application.

regards,
Vin

Thank you for the reply,Ali.

To apply for extension under HSMP, i should be living inside the UK, isn't it ?. Correct me if i am wrong.

Let me know if there is a way to apply for HSMP extension from outside the UK.

You may remember signing a declaration that you intend to make the UK your main home when you first lodged your application, you clearly did not do that, but I would think you should apply for an extension (in the UK and now as you have about 4 weeks left before your EC expires) instead of making a fresh application and going through the EC hassle again.

You may be given a 1 year extension.

Are you working here now ? If you are then u may have greater chances of getting u'r extension successful. And you can apply in-country.

But prepare your case stronger for ex, write a cover letter explaining y u had to take that assigment for so and so reasons either
related to your career growth or loss to u'r previous company and also add that u thought it will help you look for better jobs here.

All I am trying to say here is you still have greater chances and dont think of re-applying now think of how you can make u'r case
stronger.

All the best.

Thank you all for the replies. This forum is really good.

I am planning to go to the UK and apply for LTR extension. I am currently working in Sweden and i don't want to resign my current job before getting the LTR extended and getting a job in the UK.

I am thinking of taking a three week vacation and go to the UK and apply for extension. Anyone knows about the current timelines for LTR applications ?. Will i get my passports back in 3 weeks time ?.

regards,
Vin

hi vin,

they are processing extensions in about 1 week. but without a permanent address in the UK or a UK bank account, I'm not sure what your chances are for extension. prepare your documents carefully. good luck!
