Visitor Visa and HSMP

Post by Ashwin2005 » Mon Sep 26, 2005 7:24 pm

I have a visitor visa to UK which is valid for one year. I used this and visited UK for a 4 days technical training. I returned from UK after the training.

I have now applied for HSMP outside UK. If I get the approval, I want to go for EC after 3 months.

Meanwhile, in these three months before obtaining EC (for HSMP entry), if I want to visit UK, can I use my current visitor visa? Is travel using visitor visa allowed aven after approval of HSMP?

I don't see any reason why not. As long as you haven't gone for EC, it seems you could continue using the visitor's visa. If you send your passport in for EC, though, before you travel... they may mark out your visitor's visa.

I don't know if they would do this if the visitor's visa were still in effect and the start date for the EC hadn't yet begun. You might try posting on the general immigration board and see if someone knows over there, if you're planning on getting your HSMP visa stamp before you travel on the visitor's visa.
