What is the procedure to get passport of new born baby ?

What is the procedure to get passport of new born baby ?

Hello Every one.

I have Tier 1 General Visa (before extension HSMP). in year 2010 i can apply for indefinate. My wife delivered baby this month. now my questions are below

1. what is the procedure to get my son's passport?
2. Do i have to get his dependant visa, to travel india.
3. Also what is the procedure to get his dependant visa?
4. How much cost? how long it will take?

Please give me guidance.

If you search in the forum you will get answer to all your questions.

1.I presume you are Indian citizen, you have register your baby at Indian embassy and submit application for passport. You have send your (Babies parents )passport along with it.
2 and 3. You have 2 ways to apply for the visa. If you are applying here in UK before travelling then you have to apply for FLR for the baby Or you can apply for EC from India.
You can travel to India with your baby without any visa but to come back your baby needs visa and can be obtained as I have mentioned above.
4.Cost is same as that for FLR application. I have seen in the forum saying that it may take from Month to 2 months, if you apply for FLR. some say its easy and faster from India (EC).

I would add the Babies Birth Certificate as one of the important documents to be submitted for both passport and visa aswell..

If child was born in the UK, then see also need for a dependent visa?
