who can come on tier 2 ?

I would like to know if ANY business which cannot find workers from local labour force can sponsor under tier 2 ?

or is there a particular list of business types which is deemed to be in shortage that must be filled ?

The skilled worker category (Tier 2 General) is for people coming to the United Kingdom with a skilled job offer to fill a gap in the workforce that cannot be filled by a settled worker.

There are also additional categories of Sponsored skilled workers.
