Need Assistance on dependent Visa

Post by nitinaggarwal5 » Fri Jul 24, 2009 4:10 pm

I came to UK two years ago on HSMP Visa. Now, I will be applying for extension in Tier1 general as my hsmp visa is expiring on 13th Dec 2009.

Also, I am getting married on 2nd Nov 09 in India. I have few questions for which I would appreciate if someone can guide me.

1) Is it fine to apply for Tier1 extension on 10-11th November which is little more than 4 weeks before the expiration of my HSMP visa?

2) As I will be getting married on 2nd Nov. So if I get my future wife's document ready along with marriage registration certificate can I apply and submit dependent visa application form from UK along with my Tier1 Extension. Or does she needs to apply from India only when I get my extension?

Moreover, if I will be applying for my visa first before her applying for dependent visa then would there be any problem in stating that I am married with one dependent in Tier 1 extension form during my personal Tier1 visa extension.

Any information will be highly appreciated.

Thank you..

Not a problem, you can even apply even 1day before your current visa expires..
BUT only problem or lost options would be in case if the visa gets rejected and you were nto given right to appeal than u need to go back to india to apply again.. but if you apply atleast 8-9weeks before as the visa idealy takes 6-7weeks to get approved or rejected even in that case u have other chance to rectify why it was rejected adn re apply again

No she can not apply along with you as you will apply within Uk and since she is applying for first time she has to do it from India..

If you are applying for your extension/tier 1 before it is not adviced to state u r married becos later the marriage certificate would create controversy or prove wrong.. BUT if you are apply ing alone after 2nd nove ur marriage day.. you can state that as YES..

It is fine. You can apply till the last day of your visa validity.
On other thought, you can apply for early extension so that when you go India for your marriage, you have valid visa to apply for your dependent's visa immidiately. If you apply for extension after your marriage, you will first have to wait for your extension and then for your dependent's entry clearance. I think you can cut short the latency time by applying for early extension.

You have to apply from India.

After marriage Nope. Before marriage it will be a problem for you.
