TIMELINE AFTER NATURALISATION APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Hi All,

pls, let me know what is "Date of receipt of approval letter" and "invitation letter".

Thanks in advance

"Date of receipt of approval letter" is the day you receive your official letter saying from the UK Border Agency stating that your application for naturlization has been approved.

Usually about a week or so later you should expect to receive a second letter officially inviting you to a Ceremony; this would then be the "invitation letter." There may be two of these (as in my case): one invitation letter from the UK Border Agency and another invitation letter from your local council.

Note that the one from the UK Border Agency will tell you to contact your local council, while the one from the local council will just tell you to call them. While the former letter will definitely not give you any specific pre-arranged date and time, the latter letter may, in fact, already have assigned you a date to take your oath (which you can, of course, call to change)... It depends on the council.

I know a few people who received both of the UK Border Agency letters at the same time, though I did not. In total, I received all three of the letters I just summarized above.

You need to write the ILR date which is in your letter from UKBA you just received because of JR.

The lady at the NCS took original Life in UK Test and photocopies of the passports of all three applicants (you must provide the passport with first UK entry stamp on it), birth certificates of the children, marriage certificate and the copy of the backdated ILR letter.

I filled in the ILR date specified in the passport.

I was asking Baskey date of his approval of naturalisation, which is on his approval letter. just trying to find out whats happening with my application. As of yesterday it was under process.

Anyways looks like your and mine case is similar as we got our backdated letter after 5 years and 8 months as well.

My approval letter is dated 18th July 2009. But received only on 25th July.

Hi Stella66, can you please confirm that if you have to send your original passport (one you used to enter UK) for your british passport application and they returned that after 2 weeks with rest of the documents? Do they stamp anything on it to say that british passport applied.
