VAF4A query

Post by EPR4:1 » Fri Jul 31, 2009 10:14 pm

I have recently received my PR and i wanted my fiancee to join me in the UK. I am currently in my final year of university and just completed a year long industrial placement. I have being going through form VAF4A guidance notes and i noticed that being employed is one of the requirement. I wanted to know if me being a student adversely affects my fiancee's application.

Me= 28 years old, non eea national with PR in the UK
Fiancee = 26 years old, non eea national
my Finances = savings of £10K
Present expenses: £500/month incl bills, rent and food.

Appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

If you have sufficient maintenance and can maintain yourselves without recourse to public funds, then you shouldn't need to work.

However, be aware that there was a refusal for a couple with similar savings reported on another board.

VAF4A query

Thanks for the response Vinny.

I tried to check the link you provided but i could not locate the exact place where the information regarding the rejection is. That said, i suppose the ECO will prefer a income rather than savings.

Also, i found that form VAF3B is for student dependants. would that apply in my case?

Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks once again.
