Your maintenance funds documents are fine.

There is not alternative to Bank Statement. You can provide passbook of letter from Bank..but best way forward is statements.

Why do you need an alternative?

urgent Maintenance funds query

Post by mustafa1981 » Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:20 am

Push the problem is that Iam applying for tier 1 from India switching from WHMV I had to wait till July to get my 12th payslip and now Iam in India, and its difficult to get the bank statements even if I order them by post they are taking about some 7 days to deliver them, but I think I havent got any other option rather than wait.

Isn't July over now? Submitting original statement is safer and straightforward option.

Hi Mustafa.. just bear in mind that you should apply before 17th August 2009 since the 3months maintenance fund period that you are showing is 17-Apr-09 to 17-Jul-2009 so you should apply within 1 month of 17th July. To be honest, I feel application should be made with in 1 week of cutoff date of your maintanace fund period as was mentioned to me by my collegues. But somewhere(i tried finding where exactly but I could not find) the rule is stated about 1 month grace.

Its 1 calendar month. Forget about the 7 days rule. They changed it long back.

Nope unless you are claiming points for it which is not in your case.

Do I have to Include covering letters for all the sections Iam claiming points for?and also with my Original masters degree shall I submit my provisional and also the mark sheets for all the 4 sem's?

Could you please provide me with a link for a good covering letter?is it Important to mention in the covering letter that my previous earnings are in my UK bank account but for the maintenance of funds will be shown in the Indian bank?

Thanks

Page 18(Guidance notes), Provisional certificates are not accepted.

Yes mention in your covering letter regarding your earnings and maintenance funds.

You don't have to submit covering letters for individual section. If you mentioned in the main covering letter that would be fine too. But , i submitted covering letters of individual sections explaining how many points i claimed for each section (though it was only for my mental satification and to make my file eye-candy). If you mention all details in main covering letters that is fine too.

Regarding cover letter templates, check the sticky section and you will find many.

Unless you have some usefull information which caseworker should consider in order to judge your application. Don't put rubbish info here. Mainly people explain everything in cover letter itself.
