The staff quality of Home office UKBA...ha

Post by PPLK » Fri Aug 14, 2009 12:45 pm

I am a EEA citizen married to my non-EEA wife, we made the EEA2 application 10 months ago..yea...i know..

So recently I am looking for jobs and finally got an offer. The thing is, I need my passport, so we called up the UKBA and find out if we can get my passport back for a while.
After many attempts and a looooooooong wait, (actually if you called up and press 3,2, you will never get to someone, for 3,3,3 if they are busy, a very high-pitched disgusting female voice "SOrry, blah blah blah")

Wait, wait, wait and wait....then I heard:

"HELLO, ROYAL MAIL".............................................

Then the first thing came to my mind was "What the FU*K!?"

I believed he realised it and corrected it to "ar..ar... home office UKBA"

So I began my question, I asked him if getting my passport back would slow down the process, then he said "NO, it will not".

I asked him again that since they need my passport back to continue the application, that means before my passport get back to them, our application would be "forzen", right? Then that means it would slow down the process, then guess what he said..."Yes!"........

So I asked him another question "Why it took so loong to complete our application? when we first applied, the website said "up to 6 months", then "up to 8 months", now you are telling me we have to wait over a year?!"
He said "Due to high volume of applications" ok, fair enough, but when I asked him "One of my friend get his application back within 8 months only, so why not ours?"

He answered........"Due to high volume" !!!!

I am just speechless, and after I found out my mobile have charged 20 pounds for that meaningless conversation..............I simply wanna send them a "large volume of sh*t"!!

Their level of professionalism and customer service skills is quite abysmal.

Things seem to have deteriorated sharply since i last dealt with them 4 years ago.

The resident card application is the luck of the draw thing. Some people get it within a 3 month whiles others take over a year, like a friend of mine.

You should consider making a complain to your MP, or the complains section.
