Is Masters Degree Required for Extension

Post by manupriyam » Sun Aug 16, 2009 10:08 am

Hi Folks,

I got the Tier 1 general in March 2009 on my Bachelors Degree. I am working in UK and wondering when I would go for extension sometime before MArch 2012, should I be having a Master's degree then.

Where will I get a Master's degree now?

Please advice is that is the case.

Thanks

Manu

NO. If you got Tier-1 on Bachelor's Degree, you don't need Masters for extension. All who applied on or before 31/03/2009 and got Tier-1(G) does not require Masters for extension.

Thanks. That is a relief. Any logically Home office has given visa to work and not to study and get a masters.

I will try and see if their site mentions it too.

Cheers

Didn't understand your question. But if you are thinking of getting Masters for the advancement of your career you can do it on Tier-1. Just make sure you meet the earning creteria when it comes to your extension in future.

Pls note that if you decide to do a full time Masters you may find it difficult to meet the ILR criteria of being or atleast having tried to be economically active.
