HSMP initial application rejection.

Hi all. Came to know about my 1st HSMP application rejection yesterday:(

They have totally messed up with my application, eventhough I applied through solicitor. The reason they gave for rejection(1) was absolutely stupid. I applied under 28 years category and showed 2 years of gradulate level experience. But they rejected the application saying, "We are not satisfied with the job reference letter as it does not indicate you had 5 years of graduate level experience."

Why do I need to show 5 years of experience when I could have got 25 points with 2 years of experience? Completely illogical.

I was really annoyed with my case worker because apprently he made an administrative mistake.

So applied for 1st review request and they replied to me with the same rejection letter saying "We still hold the refusal".

They didn't even bother looking into the case.

Then my solicitor made atleast four to five complaints against them but what they did. They never replied to anyone of them.

So finally wrote a letter saying we would complaint to parliamentary ombudsman. So they considered it as a request for 2nd review and rejected it again. But now they came up with new reason to reject saying, "The description given in the job reference letter does not indicate the minimum requirement for the position you held was UK's first level degree or equivalent."

My reference letter clearly stated that the minimum requirement for the position I held was Bachelor's degree in computing or equivalent. Don't know what to do with this people. Now I can't even appeal against them as they stated in their last rejection letter. As my solicitor said, I haven't got much options now. Either I can go for the completely new application or contact parliamentary ombudsman to complaint about it.

Not sure what to do now because my visa is going to expire within 4-5 weeks. I am on a student visa at the moment.

I would really appreciate if anyone can tell me how to get the extension so that I can reapply for HSMP.

Unless you provide satisfactory evidence - the new/fresh application will be refused...

best option is to make sure your caase is 'water tight'. if you think you have satisfactory evidence then reapply....

perhaps you might consider getting a work permit assuming you are highly skilled in nthe shortgae skill industry...

...if you want to 'buy' time but at a very expensive cost; then enrol for a ne course...you gotta act fast though.......

They only had a problem with my work experience letter. But my solicitor, who has already dealt with several successful HSMP cases, approved the letter to be very comprehensive and detailed.

Still I will tell him to review it before I reapply. But is there anything else which I could provide as a supporting document for work experience so that my case would become strong.

I agree with Chess. The final judgement still lies with the caseworker and not your solicitor. If the caseworker is not satisfied with evidence you've provided then you'll be back to where you've started. Try to include some dimensions in your evidence i.e. $$$ terms, do you have direct subordinates or is the position takes care of a wide array of your company's resources.

Try to look in that perspective. Often than not, the caseworker would be able to visualize what's your job is all about.

Besides, the caseworkers are not experts in our line of work. They only follow a set guidelines while browsing our application.
