Spouse Visa

Post by rigstud » Mon Aug 17, 2009 8:06 pm

I am currently filling out my Settlement visa form and it ask's me if i intend to work in the UK. I am not sure what to answer Yes or No.....

I am currently working in Dubai and cannot resign from my current job as I contribute to my wife's and my living costs in the UK and we have financial commitments to make at the end of each month. But I am not sure if the UK Border Angency requires me to quit my job and find employment in the UK.

Can anyone help me with this one??

Thanks!

Correct me if i am wrong, you are the chap that entered the UK with the marriage visa, correct?

I hope you are intending on submitting the completed form to the British High commission in Dubai, as it won't be processed in the UK

I don't thing a yes or no answer will avail you, or curtail any of you employment rights should you obtain the spousal visa.

You could state No, as that will be the correct and truthful answer in your case. I am sure it will not affect your chance.

If you think they will suspect you are going to be a burden to public funds, you could write on the additional information section that you are already employed, and don't intend to live on UK public purse.

Hi Obie,

You remembered me rightly. I am the same chap.

Obie, I will be subitting my Settlement Form at the British embassy here in Dubai. Thanks for your reply, I am just typing up a note for Part 9 and will submit it with the others.

I would like to inform everyone else on here as well, I will be making detailed notes on this whole procedure of applying for a Spouse Visa from Dubai. I will post the whole procedure once I have completed.

Thanks Obie one!

I thought the name rang a bell.

I wish you every success with you application, and hope you enjoy you time in the UK.

Make sure you have all the evidence for accommodation and maintenance in place, to prevent refusal, as you stand the risk of loosing your money and getting a refusal if your evidence are not in place.

Funny the world in which we live. I am currently working on moving to the middle east Dubai or Saudi and someone is doing the opposite.
