spouse already on a work permit

Post by sid2710 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 9:14 pm

hello folks,

I am planning to apply for a hsmp tier 1(general) visa by end of sept 09.

My wife is already in the UK on a valid work permit. I am based out of Germany and my wife has a dependant permit of Germany.

I hold an Indian passport, while applying for the tier 1, would my wife's employment in the UK strengthen my case? Assuming she is employed by a know Indian IT vendor, with a valid work permit and payed as per UK standards.

I need to know on how to proceed, show her as employed in the UK or get my visa processed as an applicant from Germany and dependant also applied for my wife from Germany. (in this case there would be no revelation of the employment)

I would like to know if it really matters if your spouse is already employed, would it give me a better case.

It makes no difference whatsoever whether or not dependant of the main applicant is employed (in UK or elsewhere). The application will be judged on its merits i.e. points as scored under specified criteria
