Is older age a disqualification for HSMP or for job hunt?

What are the chances of candidates into mid forty's making to HSMP or finding appropriate jobs in UK if otherwise they fit in well on the parameters of HSMP and are qualified/experienced enough in their respective disciplines.

Comments from members of the forum and moderators are requested on the above.

I did see someone, an American, on the other forum who was having problems of age discrimination and snide remarks from Job Centre officers and recruitment firms and he was in about his same age group. Technically its not supposed to be an issue, that your call.

The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 when implemented will outlaw age discrimination which cannot be justified. I believe these regulations will come in force next year (around October 2006).
