Dear ALL,
Would someone please kindly help to answer the following question? Thanks very much!
I'm currently in uk under Tier 1 (General migrant). I read from home office's website that if I want to apply for ILR, i need to stay in uk for a continuous period of five years, while Time spent out of the United Kingdom may be discounted if it is for paid annual leave or business trips that are necessary due to employment commitments.
My circumstance is that i get a job at the headquarter of United Nations in New York, which requires me to work in New York. But i do want to get UK citizenship.
I heard from somewhere that if i'm working for an international organization, while UK is a member of that organization, the time i spend out of UK due to employment of that organization can be discounted when calculating my absence out of UK in my application for ILR.
Would any senior members kindly tell me whether it's ture or not, since i cannot find such statement in home office's website. Thanks very much indeed!! I really appreciate all your kind help!!
Best regards
Celine
