Question on Immigration History

Post by defsonic » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:20 am

I am filling in my Tier 1 form and have a quick question:

Originally I came in to the UK on a Working Holiday Visa
I then changed to a HSMP after 1 year (from within the UK)
I am now looking to extend my HSMP via the Tier 1 process

In Section 2 Immigration History on the form it asks for which visa I obtained entry clearance to the UK.
I assume the details of my Working Holiday Visa need to be put in here along with the its reference number (not my HSMP?)

Then at question D28/D29 (submitted before leave expired) I assume I would be talking about my HSMP visa (as my Working holiday expired long ago but my HSMP is still valid)

Just wanted to make sure I get the right visa down as the form doesn't seem to ask for details of my current entry clearance anywhere except at D11 - current immigration status in the UK.

Am I reading the form correctly?

Thanks

hi there. was in your same situation. the details of entry clearance should be for your working holiday. i'm not sure how you managed to change to hsmp within the uk; thought you were meant to leave the country to apply for that - make sure you did a valid switch.
yes, second question: refers to all your visas.

Thanks - I changed visas before the rules changed and they forced people to head home to get the HSMP - I think I was in about 2-3 months before that rule came in about going home first. Was lucky indeed.
I know a few friends of mine had to head home and wait months back there waiting to see if they got approved.
