sample letter - cash transfer

Post by hmm » Mon Sep 28, 2009 10:51 am

Hi All good people.
I need to write a letter confirmimg that my cousin who lives here gives me cash to give to his parents in India when ever I go there for holidays, once or twice a year. I did that for the last 3 years.
Can anyone draw up a letter for me or if anyone has any similar letters can you pm to me. I haven't got a clue how to begin.

My cousin going to apply for a UK visa to his parents and he likes to have my letter as a confimation for the cash transfer.

Please help

It would be something like this:

I ( your name & address ) do hereby solemnly and sincerely declare that I have on the following occasions whilst travelling to India handed over ( amount of money - Britsh Pounds) to Mr and Mrs Freda Boggs of ( address of parents of your friend in India) .

The above are the parenst of ( your friends name and address in uk). It is a common practice in our customs to do this. The money is eventually exchanged in India at a much better exchange rates than those available in the UK.

The money was hand over on teh following dates:

01/04/09 - £300

30/08/09 - £500

As evidence I have attached photocopies of my passport showing teh dates I travelled to India. The money was handed over a few days after my arrival in Inda

Yours faithfuly
Mr M Singh.
Hope this helps. I have done this for a few people and it seems to have worked on most occasions

Thanks for your reply. I like the 2nd paragraph.
The thing is I have been doing that for the last 3 years, twice a year. I can only remember the amount for the last few times. Before that it was different amount each time.

Ideally you send them by Western Union in the future. Much easier, but you dont get same rate. You get more if you take £'s over and change the into Rs there and then.

£ & $ are like gold mine over there
