Post by raj » Tue Nov 08, 2005 10:43 pm

Hi Guys!!

First of all thanks very much for this wonderful form which helped me to get the approval for my initial HSMP application then also helped me for my HSMP Extension!!

I appologies if I am putting this question at wrong place/wrong forum and would appreciate if someone experienced can respond or redirect me to the right place!!

My query is I recently got my HSMP extension and now I am getting marry with a girl in next few months, my fiancee is on 5 years work permit in UK, Now after marriage she will be on my dependent visa, can someone help me to sort this matter out as a best ways so that after marriage my wife can get the dependent visa smoothly and for the duration same as mine i.e. JAN 2009 so that she can also work without any work permit requirement.

I would be greatful for your help

Where there is a will there is a way.

Its the same process you went through with your FLR, you will submit the same documentation you submitted for your extention - latest wage slips, bank statements, tenancy agreement etc. The only extra document will be your marriage certificate.

Raj, you probably realise this already, but just in case, both you and your fiancée need to obtain a Certificate of Approval to Marry ("CoA") before the two of you can go along to a designated Register Office and give Notice of Intention to Marry. About two weeks after that Notice is posted the legal permission to marry will be issued. That permission to marry is valid for 12 months. In other words, no problem applying for the CoAs in the near future, assuming you have not already done so.

Unless it happens to be the case that the marriage is intended to happen in a Church of England Church, in which case none of the above applies.

I am also assuming that the two of you will marry in the UK.

Thanks John,

I am exploring the easiest option for switching my fiancee wp to my dependent visa status.

I am keeping both the options option i.e. to marry in UK and/or to marry in india.

In either case A formal wedding ceramony will take place in India.

please suggest which option will be the best one!
