Hello All,

Please share your experience and also advice is my understanding correct and I can file my application on this basis:

Education: Chartered Accountant (considered equivalent to Masters degree) from The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India - points 35
(i have checked in this thread that I can claim 35 points as it is considered as equi in many cases of applicant) - i have also applied to NARIC for comparability.

English: Bachelor in Commerce degree from University of Delhi - 10 Points - this is appearing in drop down to select and automatically 10 points are gained for this.

Q1: My question is that can I claim one degree for education for 35 points and another degree for English language for 10 points. Is this allowed?

Q2: Alternative: I have also requested NARIC in the application for comparability of CA degree to also validate that I did my CA in english as I have also attached a certificate obtained from ICAI for english language. Can I select this if NARIC certifies it to be in english and use 10 points for this if not BCOM.


Please advice which is best to do Q1 or Q2.

Yes, you can use..

Not sure if NARIC gives certificate for english(??-pls ignore if it does - as i am not sure) but since your Q1 can be used you can go with that or if NARIC gives a certificate then UKBA definitely will accept it..

you can send both the docs to be on safe side..

Thank you very much tvn_ramesh. I was thinking the same to apply and mention clearly on the covering letter use of both the documents.

One more question is as soon as I select Bachelor degree from University of Delhi I get 10 points in PBS Calculator. Do I still need to obtain english language certificate from University of Delhi? I did my bachelors in 1996 and I am out of India, presently in Riyadh on work permit, and it is difficult and time consuming to obtain this certificate.

No you dont need to produce any letter for english.. as you will attach the PBS Summary sheet with the application.. so if the PBS Calculator finds ur degree and gives 10points.. that is enough

Hi Manish

My case is the similar as yours. Just wanted to check with you what was the outcome of your application.

We can see the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the drop down list, however, I am not sure why there are no points for the same.
