HSMP/Tier1 Sponsor now victim of Domestic Violence

Post by intgral » Wed Oct 07, 2009 10:15 pm

Hi All,

I have obtained my HSMP in the beginning of 2007 and have sponsored my spouse for the dependent visa.

We have now been separated 5 months, pending divorce, due to the spouse being arrested as a consequence of being violent several times.

What are my obligations towards HO in regards to the spouse's visa and what are the implications regarding that visa?

I appreciate your help.

Thank you.

You should notify the HO of marriage breakdown/divorce. That would cancel your spouse's visa as he is no longer your dependent.
