no wedding rings, problem?

Post by Laura410 » Sat Oct 10, 2009 4:23 am

my fiance makes enough to support me after bills etc, but not enough to have a massive savings, especially after we WASTED money foolishly on a lawyer who doesnt seem to know what he's doing..and also on my flights back home to apply....we havnt even got rings :-(...is this going to be a problem when trying to prove that we in fact intend to marry in the UK? He's booking a date with the registry office on Monday but according to SET1.18 What evidence is required of marriage arrangements:
SET1.18 What evidence is required of marriage arrangements? - Of itself, a booking at a Register Office or church is not proof that a marriage will take place.

The ECO can reasonably expect the couple to have made some tentative plans for the wedding. Any evidence that may be available that wedding arrangements are in hand may help in this respect
I can provide invitations to a small dinner we're booking for after the civil marriage ceremony (total of 4 attendants including my partner and i) ; supporting letters from both sets of parents' blessings; siblings blessings; supporting letter from our 2 witnesses and best friends who will be our only attendants at the actual ceremony.

Will not having rings ruin our chances ???

Please any help :0)

Best regards
Laura (24/F California + 28/M London)

When my fiancee (now wife) applied for a fiancee visa a few years back we had no real plans for our wedding - our only 'plan' was the month we intended to get married. So not having wedding wings at this point should not be a problem for you at all.
