No it'll be fine.fair_life wrote:Hi everyone
My husband is applying for British citizienship based on marriage to me ( British Citizien). He has had his ILR for over a year now.
My question is regarding the referee who have known him for three years now. Tonight our friend has signed as he knows him for three years but one thing I am concerned is , when asked how do you know the person, our friend has put that he has known him through mosque.
My husband attends Friday prayer at local mosque where he met this friend but we immediately became worried about putting it that he knows him through the mosque. Do you think they will delay his citizienship or even refuse just because he goes to the mosque?
Or do you think they will want to carry out more thorough check, ( they can do as my husband is gennuine decent person).
Thank you very much in advance, any advise would be appriciated.
Therefore i don't think they will reject him on that basis. Naturalisation Rules wrote: 18.1.5 Under s.44(1), the Home Secretary is required to exercise his discretion without regard to the race, colour or religion of the applicant for naturalisation.
That is right. Refferences are not only to confirm the character it is also to confirm the persons ID.Obie wrote:Therefore i don't think they will reject him on that basis. Naturalisation Rules wrote: 18.1.5 Under s.44(1), the Home Secretary is required to exercise his discretion without regard to the race, colour or religion of the applicant for naturalisation.
Given that he is married to you, a British Citizen, there is no requirement for him to have had his ILR for at least one year. However do make sure that when he applies for Naturalisation he was in the UK exactly 3 years before UKBA will receive the Naturalisation application. My husband is applying for British citizienship based on marriage to me ( British Citizien). Absolutely not. In the UK there is of course religious freedom, that is, freedom to practice whatever religion a person chooses to follow.Do you think they will delay his citizienship or even refuse just because he goes to the mosque?
