Baby Registration

Post by HASINIHSMP » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:25 pm

I am applying for ILR under HSMP ILR Judgement in December and I am including my wife and 13 month old baby in my application. I had Indian Passport for my baby and UK birth certificate.
My baby has never been out of the country until now. So we haven’t done her visa until now as we are planning to include her as a dependant in the ILR application. But according to the UK registration rules under sec1 (3) we can register a baby as a British citizen after either of the parents get ILR.
My question is Do I need to include my baby as ILR dependant and then apply for her registration afterwards or directly apply for her registration under sec 1(3) after I got my ILR?

Regards
Hasi

No, You dont need to include your baby in ILR if you are planning to apply for naturalization.

Then write NA. This is a general form and there will be some questions which some times may not apply to your case.

My uncle was asked to put his ILR date on his son's registration form (MN1).

my situation is little different. myself and my wife had ILR stamping recently, under hsmp judicial review. we have twin daughters who are 15 months old. they are born in UK, have UK birth certificate, indian passports, dependent visa till august 2010. they went to india at the age of four months to stay with grand parents. they are currently in india. now that we (both parents) have ILR visa, can we apply (in UK) for registration under section 1(3) while they are still in india. do they have to be in UK for that.

thanks
