long wait for EEA4

Post by reedaa » Tue Oct 20, 2009 9:28 am

hi all , i am new here

I have a an PR application with UKBA since April 2008 .
Brief history:
I am a Non EEA married to EEA citizen since march 2003
My 5 years permit expired July 2008
Sent an EEA4 application with all required documents April 2008
Received COA May2008
Since then nothing heard from UKBA until end of March 2009 requesting a new passport as mine was expired, and more documents to prove my presence in UK for last 5 years and proves of my wife employment

Sent all document in the first week of April

Since then no reply or communication from UKBA

Called them several times, and always get the same answer: your application is with a team and waiting for a decision. I asked if my documents are not lost , and I was assured that they are not lost.
I sent several complaints via email, and two recorded letters, but never had a reply.
3 weeks ago we went and meet our local MP , and he sent a letter to a home office minister. But no luck yet, last week I called Liverpool and the guy told me that they received a complaint from my MP and the sent him a reply, yesterday I called my MP office and I was told they haven’t received no reply yet, so I call UKBA Liverpool again , and the guy on told me they haven’t sent no reply to my MP yet….that shows us how competent and truthful the agent we spent our money to call are!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven’t tried Solvit yet.

I am just wondering if any one had the same experience as us or are in the same situation …..The waiting game is getting its toll on us

Since you are now entitled to naturalisation assuming that you got all evidence why don't you just apply for it and withdraw your application.

according to the HO website you do not need to get this as it is only a confirmation of status and you acquire thsi automatically after your 5 years.

since you got the 5 years + 1 then you could apply for naturalisation and skip the PR.

otherwise, just keep comaplaining or wait till December as the HO as promised to get back to time processing standards.

hi Morpheo, thanx for the reply

at the time of the application I didn’t know that i could apply for naturalisation… but that’s what I was thinking of these days , but the only thing is, they have all our documents , and if I withdraw the application , wouldn’t that make me loose my status , and they might refuse the application for naturalization!!!!!!!!!! We have all evidence to cover the period of 6 years from work, bills with them. I am just wondering if they would return my documents back without withdrawing the application, and then I will be able to apply for naturalisation

I call them at least twice a week , but I keep just hearing the same answer, lately they’ve been promising that the backlog of application should be cleared by December….
