Student Visa to Asylum

Post by wishy » Fri Oct 30, 2009 9:40 pm

I have sent my passport for visa renewal (student visa extension) but I know that I did not provide all the documents required and I almost certain my application will fail (My documents have been returned 3 times this year and I still have not got a visa since December 2008). I am hoping to apply for discretionary leave to remain because I know I might have a good case to claim but my main worry has always been. If I was to successfully apply and get probably 1 or 2 years of the discretionary leave could I then apply for naturalisation due to having stayed in the country for 10years legally with the additional year/years I have got from the discretionary leave?

This is one reason why I decided to try extend my student visa due to the fact that I am almost reaching the required 10years even though I do not have a strong application or the required docs.
