Income proof

Post by fpvt2 » Mon Nov 28, 2005 10:26 pm

For the income proof, it says that you can use "Evidence from employer(s)". Is this a letter from the employer stating how much you make annually ? Thanks.

Since I have been working in the UK for an employer, my employer has been taking the tax out of my paycheck, and I do not file tax return. So, I can not show tax declaration. Will the employer letter, pay slip and maybe deposits to the bank be sufficient ?

Did you get a P60?

A P60 details your earnings and tax deductions for the current tax year and is provided by your employer at the end of the financial year.

Here is an image of what a P60 would look like.

Financial year ends April 5th every year. If you have been working since before April 2005 with your employer, you should have this.

If I have this P60, I should submit this also for income proof, right ?
But then it only prove income from April 5th 2004 to April 5th 2005, not for the last 1 year from Nov 2004 to Nov 2005.

You can only show the tax documents that you have. You will not get another P60 until next April 2006 and that is perfectly understandable from the HSMP application point of view. Therefore you will have a P60 that proves the taxes you have paid, relevant from Nov 2004 to March 2005. Between April 2005 and Nov 2005, you still have your bank statements and pay slips and that would be sufficient. The idea is to give as much evidence as possible that makes it easier for the case worker to allot points for you in the earnings capacity.
