Please bring International Driving Licence to UK

Post by technician » Thu Dec 01, 2005 10:50 am

Hello all,

THIS IS FOR THE BENEFIT OF FUTURE APPLICANTS.

If your profession demands driving, please bring Internationl driving licence to before comming to UK.

This is my personal experience. Some times ago I missed a good opportunity in my HSMP profession. During the interview everything was perfectly OK but the manager wanted that occasionally I may be required to visits clients on behalf of company and this naturally demanded driving licence. So I was only on this ground. I had to wait for about two months for the next opportunity.

Yesterday I applied for provisional UK driving licence and submitted my passport to be verified at the DVLA, Swansea.

Please pray to GOD that I get back my passport along with the provisonal licence.

Then theory test, then getting instructor lessons then practical driving test then getting full licence. ............. a long process, indeed.

That is right, assume that overseas driving licence to be a full licence and not just a provisional one, and also assuming that you have brought that licence to the UK so that you can produce it as necessary.

Thanks John and mini for the reply.

Any how the job slipped away from my hands but I got the job in my profession with a low salary. This was for extension purposes and Two days ago I have applied for UK provisional Driving licence and within six weeks I hope to get a full UK licence completing all the formalities. Theory & practical.

Thanks once again
