Am I or am I not EEA family member

Post by Caroline592 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 6:33 pm

I am married to EEA national (Irish) I got my permanent residence in 2006. I am Czech and now I need to have my passport stamped to show permanent residece and UK border agency is refering to me as non-EEA family member. I do not understand why when Czech Republic falls under EEA category.

Enyone can explain?

They are not allowed to stamp your passport as you are an EEA national.

They should only give you a document attesting to Permanent Residence under EU. It is called a Permanent Residence Certificate.

You were not an EEA national when your residency was granted, but now that you are, your residency should be converted to Permanent Residence Certificate.
