Applying for ILR qualifying period question

Post by brunlea » Tue Dec 08, 2009 11:57 am

Hi,

My wife came to the UK on 25/12/2007. He visa has an expiry date of 10/12/2007. This means that her 2 years will not have completed when her visa expires.

The ILR form has just been sent off today, so it should arrive with them tomorrow (1 day before visa expiry!).

Can any of you see a problem with this? Have we applied too late or is it ok? The form stated that we should not appy more than 28 days before the 2 year qualifying period. To my mind we have done so correctly, but can some one please confirm that we have applied in time please?

Also what would the qualifying eriod be to apply out of interest for my wife?

Very much appreciated.

Thanks

No problem. :)
You can apply no earlier than 28 days before the 2nd anniversary of your wife arriving in the UK, but before the expiry date. So you're fine.
