Tier - 1 (General) Dependant Visa for New born from India.

Post by disdil4u » Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:05 pm

Hi All
I am just reading guidance notes on UKBA website and come across following notes for Visa Fees for Dependant.

What fee will my dependants pay?
They will pay the same fee as you. This will be either at the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme rate or Tier 1 (General) Migrant rate depending on the scheme under which you entered the United Kingdom.

I originaly came uk on Student Visa then converted to HSMP with my wife and extended to Tier 1 General. Now I need to apply for Entry Clearance from India for my new born son. After reading guidance as above i am confused whether do we need to pay fees as per current immigration status or as per entry to point based system?

As present Dependant of HSMP need to pay INR 17,200/- and Dependant of Tier 1 General need to pay INR 54,000/-. I am assuming this will be same for infant/child as well.

After reading guidance i am very confused. Please someone provide more information with regards to fees.

Many Thanks

Since your current immigration status is Teir 1. It is the same fees you paid for your Teir 1 extension, that is 54k, the fees is same for the infant as well.

I am a bit unsure if there is any change with old HSMP category

Hi letmec2006

Thank You for your reply. I did check with VFS Mumbai and they advise that it is 54K. Anyway I was just trying to understand guidance in which the way it's written it very confusing.

Dependent will pay same fees as Principal Applicant. This is will either HSMP rate or Tier 1 General rate depending on the scheme under which principal applicant entered the united kingdom.
