my friend come here in july 2005 on spouce visa after 2 years he was intitle to apply for ilr but his wife wasnt agree on that some personal matters and he applied for extension of furture two years now his visa finishing in september 2010 but now his marriege broke down and he is living seperatley from his wife
my quistion: can he live here any more after his extended visa finished like can he apply in other categories and he got no children from his wife and he is in uk since 2005 (4 years ) on spouce visa so any rules for that
plz let me know if im saying anything incorrect

oh, your friend eh? okay, I'll play that game...


if he came in july 2005, and then got a 2 year extension, surely his new expiry date would be 2009? so he is currently an over stayer and in all likelyhood any visa application would be rejected on that basis anyway

and no, unless he gets his wife to act as sponsor, he can't apply for ILR or another extension

it should be but before getting extention it took 1 year and 3 months something like that and then he got extension for more two years
he applied for extention in june 2007 but refused
in september 2007 refused and then he gave it to solicitor and got extension in sep 2008

He was granted spousal visa because of his marriage to a uk citizen
He has no right to remain as the marriage is finished.
Had he applied for ILR after 2 years he could have stayed
To claim for ILR he must show continuation of relationship
