explaining contributions

Hi

basically im filling in the application form vaf4a and i got to the questions how much money do you give to family and how much do you spend each month on living costs?

im living rent free and my parents pay the bills.i work and i would say that on average i spend 250 pounds per month. about 100pounds i spend on my personal self and the rest i voluntarily give to parents to help them with basic house hold though im not obliged.

so could someone help me as to what i should write in these sections?

write what you just said. That you give your parents £150/month for household contributions. You should also have them(your parents) write a letter explaining that you're not obliged to pay rent or bills. Third party support is now allowed.

ok so i will write this in a letter explaining my expenses. i got a cover letter where my i wrote that i live rent free and contribute and also i got a letter from my parents saying that they pay for the rent and have no problem with it. so do i still need this extra letter from them about its not obliged, and shall i write a seperate one or just add it to the accomodation letter from them??


also what do i write in those sections of the form?? do i write 250 in the box that says how much total monthy income u give to family and 100 in the box tht says how much do u spend each month on living costs although the 100 is a personal expense?

In the form I believe you write £150/monthly contributions.

Just as long as your parents say that you're ok to live there rent and bill free, it's fine. It doesn't matter how many letters you produce as they will all say the same thing. So just one letter from you and one from your parents where they both pretty much explain the same thing, that you contribute £150/monthly because you want to.

I'm sorry I don't have the application form before me. The questions are very straightforward just be perfectly honest in each section. Don't make anything up as you can be banned for deception. Declare all of your expenses. If you're unsure, put it into the further information section. Be very sure that you've explained everything accurately.

8.7.14 says how much of your total monthly income is given to family members-dependants

8.7.15 how much does your sposor spend each month on living costs.

is personal expenses classed as a living cost
