Yes you can ask for an oral hearing and appoint a rep. Just write to AIT asking for this change
I have changed my representative. What should I do?

Write to us and your solicitor/representative to tell us immediately. If your hearing is scheduled within the next 7 days you should fax or write to the hearing centre where your case is to be heard as soon as possible and no later than 2 business days (business days mean Monday – Friday, UK holidays do not count as business days) before the hearing to inform them of the change. It would be helpful if you could supply the hearing date and your appeal number.

Details of the hearing centres can be found at on the following page hearing centres.

If you don't have a date for your hearing or it is more than 7 days away you should fax or write to the AIT Support Centre as soon as possible to inform them of the change. The address for this correspondence is:
AIT Arnhem Support Centre
PO Box 6987
Leicester
LE1 6ZX

Fax 0116 249 4130 or 0116 249 4252 If you are faxing from overseas the numbers are 0044 116 249 4130 or 0044 249 4252

It would be helpful to include your appeal number in any correspondence
