Changes to Tier 4 in February 2010

Post by Sinner » Sun Jan 24, 2010 2:05 pm

Hello everyone.

i came to know The Prime Minister is currently considering whether Tier 4 should be changed in any way, including the minimum level of qualification, testing English language ability and whether all Tier 4 students should have permission to work. The UK Border Agency has said that the results should be announced some time between mid-January and early February. I will be applying on 15th feb 2010 . will this change effect me? i think result will be announced in early feb but implementation would be at later stage.

Regards.

Hi nabeel,
First of all they are going to change followings from the start of feb.
1- Rather having visa letter issued by your college / university, a specific reference number will be used for new/ extension of Tier 4, when you apply within the U.K.
2- Previously they required minimum funds for 2 months expenditures, if you are extending your TIER 4 within U.K, and this money should be in your account on the date of application.
From feb onward, this money should be in your account for minimal of 28 days.

So far these are the changes, but if home office make further changes, definitely they would give some time frame for its implementation, as first the law is passed, and later applied.

I hope it will not make the life of students a nightmare.

I have also heard friends saying under new rules they can not work.

I think it would not happen as human rights may not permit such law to come in force. Yes they may make it a bit hard.. How?? Let's wait and see.
