What's your current visa status? I mean you can't apply for HSMP as the scheme closed in 2008! So, at the most one can only apply for extension if he was earlier given leave on HSMP. So, are your applying for extension? if so, when was your initial approval granted (HSMP/Tier 1)??

HSMP scheme has been replaced with Tier 1 (General). If you are planning to apply afresh under Tier 1 (G), then read the Tier 1 (General) policy guidance where the answer(s) to your query are available.

If you are currently in UK under the Tier 1 (PSW) scheme, reading this post will be useful.
