Unmarried partner online application form

Hi all,

lol I guess this is a sign of things to come if I am already confused on the 3rd page of the application!

It asks my purpose of coming to the UK - I assume I say "to settle with my unmarried partner" but in less words as they limit the space.

Then it asks when my intended date is to travel to the UK (I'm entering our proposed travel date) and then it asks when I intend to LEAVE the UK. At this point I don't intend to leave the UK if we get the visa - as it is a dd/mmm/yyyy form should I just put in 2 years after the proposed entry date (as I know I will be granted 2 years initially?)

For the purpose of coming to the uk, you're correct just try to say it in less words. Like, "settlement with partner" or something. For the part about leaving the uk, just put the date that your passport expires or pick the latest date you can choose. It really doesn't matter as they understand you are coming to settle. The online application is generic so that's why they have that question even though it doesn't apply to you.

I don't know about other forms but the online application form that I had to fill out for my EEA Family Permit application did have questions which made it look ridiculous.

For example first it asked 'Do you live together with your wife?' to which I ticked 'Yes' and later 'When was the last time you saw your wife?' Now wtf am I supposed to write??

Haha yeah they always have odd questions that are supposadly for catching people out. My favorite ones are the ones at the end that are like "are you a terrorist?" and things of that nature.

Haha yes the questions like have you ever been involved in terrorism or war crimes or crimes against humanity can't be serious even though my favourite one, and the one which seriously made me confused was 'Are there any other reasons to believe that you are not a person of good character?'

lol yeah, they expect the applicant to go into great detail with their life stories on that good character one. "well when I was a teen I stole an apple..." Good character to some is soooo not the same thing as good character to others.

Another q - would the question about if I have filed a "previous application to remain" include an application for a work permit? I was in the UK between 2006-2008 on a working holiday visa then my employer sponsored me - would the permit be considered this?
